In 1991, Manuel joined El Banco Nacional de M&eacute;xico in the Corporate Bank. He held several positions in different areas in Corporate Banking, Wholesale, Commercial and Consumer Business. In 2005, he became Managing Director for Credit Cards and was the recipient of the &ldquo;Celebrating Excellence Award&rdquo; presented by the Global Consumer Bank.
In 2008 Manuel transitioned to join Banorte-Ixe, where he led numerous businesses, and in 2012 became Executive Vice President for Consumer and Retail Products.
In April 2019, Manuel rejoined Citibanamex as Head of Products and Segments for Global Consumer Bank Mexico, and in November 2019 he was named Chief Executive Officer of Grupo Financiero Citibanamex.
Manuel holds a degree in Business Administration from ITAM, M&eacute;xico, as well as a Master of Economics from the same institution. He has been married to Lillian for 25 years and they are parents to 3 girls.
