History

Citi's presence in Egypt dates back to 1975. In 1993, we received a license to operate in local currency, a major milestone which allowed for the gradual development of today's Securities & Banking business, offering corporate and investment banking services to corporate customers and financial institutions.

In 1999, we celebrated the launch of our consumer banking business in Egypt by introducing the first unsecured credit card to the market.

Businesses

Our Global Consumer Group and Securities & Banking businesses serve a customer base of more than 100,000 individual accounts and businesses, operating through our nine branches in Cairo and Alexandria.
