Citi was one of the first foreign banks to have a presence in Korea, commencing operations in 1967. It is now the only global bank with a significant local presence, with extensive corporate clients and a full-scale consumer franchise in Korea.
Citibank Korea Inc. (CKI) was formed on November 1, 2004, after the acquisition of KorAm Bank. Citibank in Korea now has 134 branches nationwide, serving 4.5 million customers. The bank has more than 1,200 ATMs in service and is one of the largest credit card issuers in Korea.
