Volume was the highest in history of the rankings, and 75% higher than the second-placed lender

Citi was awarded the top position in Affordable Housing Finance's ranking of affordable housing lenders for 2010.

According to the survey, Citi Community Capital's $2.94 billion volume for the year was the highest in the four-year history of the rankings, and nearly 75% higher than the second-placed lender.

"We are dedicated to supporting affordable housing initiatives that help preserve and revitalize neighborhoods across the nation," said Vikram Pandit, CEO of Citigroup. "This great outcome is the result of our bankers practicing Responsible Finance, and I am proud of their efforts."

"The financing needs of low and moderate income communities throughout the country have grown significantly, and we have aggressively expanded our community development business across a broad range of products to serve those needs," said Hal Kuykendall, Co-Head of Citi Community Capital.
