At Citi, our strong and continuing commitment to making communities better is taken very seriously at all levels - from the many thousands of employees who regularly volunteer to the ongoing, personal efforts of Vikram Pandit, our CEO.
Vikram and his senior team are visiting cities across the United States to participate in roundtable discussions and one-on-one meetings with community partners and other key local stakeholders.
In the last few months alone, Vikram traveled more than 32,000 miles to meet with Citi's community partners and their clients around the country, to talk about our commitment to responsible finance and to better understand how we can help.
Here's what Citi is doing around the country.
In Chicago, Vikram visited the Hermitage Manor affordable housing cooperative, which Citi Community Capital funded through the non-profit, Chicago-based mortgage lender Community Investment Corporation (CIC). Vikram announced that Citi has more than doubled its financial commitment to CIC's lending investment pool from $24 million to $50 million through December 2015.
