History
Citi has been represented in Romania by Citibank Romania S.A. since 1996 and provides high quality financial services and products to national and multinational companies, small and medium companies, the public sector, not-for-profit organizations and individuals.

After more than 11 years of successful operations in Romania, Citibank Romania S.A., starting with January 1, 2009 was converted into a branch of Citibank Europe plc (CEP) based in Ireland.

Businesses
We have around 100 operational centers , including eight corporate banking branches. The remainder consists of CitiFinancial branches and direct sales centers.

Since our early establishment in Romania, we have dedicated to companies and financial institutions an exclusive mix of cash management, trade, securities and funds services capabilities; introducing innovative solutions for mass collections, internet banking transactions, trade finance projects and securities services.

We are proud to have assumed the leadership role in introducing the cash management concept in Romania (1997); introducing cash remittance countrywide through our partnership with local banks (1998); plus the launching of CitiDirect online banking, the state-of-the-art internet banking platform (2000).

Since 2003, we have also provided services to individuals through CitiFinancial. Beside its network, CitiFinancial serves its clients via the largest mobile sales force in Romania.
