São Paulo Starting November 21, one of São Paulo’s landmark entertainment venues, currently known as Credicard Hall, will have a new name. The country’s leading and most versatile show arena will now be called Citibank Hall. The name change underscores Citi’s commitment to offering its clients exclusive benefits.
“Our goal is to consolidate our focus on the Premium segment by offering our clients not only differentiated financial services but also access to exclusive benefits,” Citi Brazil President Helio Magalhães explained. With this change, Citi will now have its name on the country’s top two entertainment spaces, Citibank Hall Rio and Citibank Hall São Paulo, in cities that are among the bank’s most strategic markets.”
In addition to sporting the Citi brand, the São Paulo venue will undergo renovations, including more comfortable box seating.
In honor of the rebranding, Citi account and card holders will enjoy special benefits, such as a 25 percent discount on shows, advance ticket sales, VIP ticket counter and entrances, reserved parking spaces and waived ticket delivery fees.
According to Fernando Alterio, President of TIME FOR FUN, the name change reflects the solid partnership between the two companies. “We have had a contract with Citi since the building now known as Citibank Hall first opened. For 14 years, we have worked in synergy to offer the best services and advantages, promoting the hall’s reputation as the top place to see shows in South America,” he noted.
As of October, the venue has been affiliated with Citi World Privileges, a global Citi program in the United States and Asia that is now being expanded to Brazil. The program focuses on four areas – Dining, Entertainment, Shopping and Travel – and offers Citi clients exclusive benefits, such as discounts at restaurants and stores, as well as events at Citibank Hall in Rio and São Paulo.
An exciting and diverse lineup of shows is being offered to boost Citibank Hall’s reputation as one of the country’s top entertainment venues. In 2012, according to Pollstar magazine, it was number one in ticket sales in all of South America. The November program features international superstars Cat Stevens (Yusuf Islam) and Sarah Brightman, and Italian singer Laura Pausini will perform in 2014.

The venue was the first in Brazil to offer standing room for up to 7,000 spectators and seating for 4,800 in safety and comfort. The 15,000-square-meter space is divided into four sections, three of them with a fixed capacity: an upper level with space for 1,820 people; box seats for 282, and suites for 440. Spacious audience seating offers a range of accommodation options.
