History Citi has been present in the United Arab Emirates since 1964, when we opened our first branch in Dubai. Since then, we have been known for delivering excellence and consistently introducing world-class banking products and services to the UAE market. With more than 1,000 full time employees, we offer a wide range of corporate and consumer banking services in the UAE. Businesses In the past few years, we have consistently ranked as the premier choice for cash management and trade services, foreign exchange products, portfolio products, primary and secondary capital markets, corporate finance, investment management and custody services in more markets, including the UAE, than any other bank according to industry surveys. As part of our strategy to build world class investment banking and equity businesses in the Middle East and North Africa region, we recently inaugurated our Middle East regional office at the Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC) following approval by the Dubai Financial Services Authority to operate as an authorized firm at the DIFC. The DIFC will be our regional hub for these businesses, along with equity research, Islamic banking and non-UAE regional banking businesses. Our Global Consumer Group has had a presence in UAE for the past 43 years, and is expanding its major operations within the country. We are currently a major player in UAE's credit card market and a leading provider of banking, wealth management and consumer credit services. We serve our consumer customers through five branches offering a wide range of retail banking products to individuals and SME corporate customers. In addition, we have recently opened four financial centers across the UAE and increased our ATM network to 50 machines.
