Our Programs

IT Analyst Full Time Program

The IT Analyst program is an initiative to hire full-time undergraduates specializing in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, and Computer Engineering to work on technology initiatives that support the Citi Markets and Banking businesses. During the program, IT Analysts can capitalize on their programming, engineering and problem-solving abilities in a state-of-the-art technological environment. The two-year program is designed to enhance the skills and performance of staff members recruited from college campuses or prior Analysts from our Citi Markets and Banking Technology Advanced Placement Program (CAPP). The program includes a training curriculum that focuses on the development of personal skills and business knowledge. The training enhances the performance of the Analysts in their day-to-day business assignments and encourages participants to understand and support the strategic direction of the firm.

Why Technology?

Opportunity - the program encourages you and provides the tools to experience and learn as much as possible within the Technology field while subsequently providing the business knowledge foundation necessary for your overall career to excel. Helpful and friendly co-workers and challenging projects are just some of the many things that will help your career development. Besides providing experience at the largest investment bank in the U.S.A., the IT Analyst program helps establish great relationships between your peer IT Analysts and Senior level managers, by holding networking events and information sessions. The courses that IT Analysts take during their two years are very helpful because they focus on just the right amount of business knowledge while providing you with the resources necessary for the progression of your career within Citi Markets and Banking Technology. (Kamran; joined 2005)

Not only does Citi provide a vast set of opportunities for college graduates, but Citi Markets and Banking Technology caters to each individual's goals. Being an IT Analyst doesn't mean you only deal with the technology side, but you are able to meet with your clients as well as learn and develop on all the details that actually drive the business. You learn to expand on your horizons, constantly “raise the bar” and feel genuinely passionate about the work you are doing. The IT Analyst program within Citi Markets and Banking Technology also provides tons of possibilities; with councils leading monthly volunteer, philanthropic, networking and training events. So why not be on the leading edge of technology with a network of support and development surrounding you? (Jennifer; joined 2004)

Citi Markets & Banking Technology is a great opportunity for a recent college graduate because of the various opportunities available. Not only does the IT Analyst program give you a chance to network with the peers from your year to the previous year Analysts, but also with the wide range of managers who support and show great interest in this program. And because Citi is a financial center, we get an extra advantage to learn the business of finance. I am personally very proud of the IT Analysts program and its accomplishments. Every year, the IT Analyst program takes a leap for the better because of the growing number of IT Analyst and our involvement in the program. We have so many accomplishments as an individual IT Analysts as to the whole Analyst program as well and we have newsletters and an internal website to prove it. All the IT Analysts developed friendships growing together as an individual and as an employee of the company. (Agatha; joined 2004)

Technology offers a vast range of roles, each unique in its own way, each presenting the opportunity to utilise a different set of skills. One can choose to work in varied roles depending on one's interests - for someone looking to hone their technical skills, database management, software development, networking and Unix/Windows server management would be ideal areas to work in. Similarly, for those more interested in the business side, production support, business analysis and project office roles prove to be a good platform to start off in. Every role provides the chance to liaise with and expand networks within both the technology and business areas and develop all-round skills. (Aastha; joined 2005)

There are many reasons why a career in Software Development or Technology Infrastructure at Citi is an excellent opportunity; however there are two reasons which makes Citi stand out from its competitors. Firstly, following your initial training, you are given responsibility early on. You will be responsible (with help from your colleagues) for decision-making and will take ownership of your own tasks and projects. The second great thing is the diverse set of skills you will develop quickly - from technical skills to communication skills and building the ability to work on your own initiative.

I have always been fascinated by the ever-evolving world of technology and a career in technology at Citi allows you to work with cutting-edge technologies and methodologies. What particularly excited me was the large amount of diverse opportunities available - from software development to project management to production support. The graduate program helps you to develop transferable skills which can be applied in all areas of technology - both now and in the future. (Barry; joined 2005)

My university background was in technology, and I always had an interest in finance, so the natural progression was to work in technology for a bank. I knew that the training programme was very varied and interesting - with generic financial training via workshops, lectures and a finance qualification, together with soft skill training on project management, team work and leadership. This was complemented well by tailored technology training specific to each role. I also knew that I would gain a great deal of exposure to the various businesses and the financial world, which suited me perfectly. (Mehul; joined 2002)
