TRANSCRIPTION STEVE FREIBERG: It's something very special to be here with this group today and also know that in over one hundred countries around the world there is almost 60,000 people that work for Citi doing something very similar to really help improve the communities in which they live and work. WIN BISCHOFF: Global Community Day is an extension of the normal things that we do with the community. I think there are going to be something like 220,000 hours of time given by Citi people around the world today. MICHAEL SCHLEIN: In a thousand separate events all on a single day it is remarkable, it is historic, whether it's collecting a 150 tons of food in Mexico or cleaning the beaches in Okinawa or changing light bulbs to energy efficient light bulbs in China, we're doing things all around the world that are really making a difference. MANUEL MEDINA MORA: This is the way Citi shows its commitment to the communities in which we live, we work and we do business with. CITI EMPLOYEE: Big or small, young or old, I think it's just a great way for everyone to give back in so many different ways. PETER KNITZER: We're a large institution, but we also work locally with all of our customers giving back to their local communities. ED GARAFALO: I love working in the kitchen down there slicing the turkey and then getting up here in the line and actually interacting with the seniors here. CITI EMPLOYEE: It's a great feeling, it's a great feeling to do something good for people. MICHAEL KLEIN: The World Food Program reaches around the globe and finds those most in need, and Citi has the opportunity to be helpful in doing that. RANDY SEABROOKE: Citi has been a partner with us for the past three years. Citi is a very integral part of our school environment. I mean, the children are accustomed to seeing adults from Citi working in our building and going to Citi buildings to work with them. CITI EMPLOYEE: We have a commitment with our environment and with the people we work with in the community. MARK ROBINSON: We were able to bring together a very large amount of Citibankers right across Russia. GARY NEWMAN: This year, we had more volunteers than we have staff in Thailand. 3,000 volunteers and seven projects. MELISSA BIERI: By Citi volunteers coming out and volunteering in revitalizing playgrounds to walking dogs in animal shelters, they're making a difference in the community all year round. SUE HARNETT: We have almost a thousand participating in 95 different projects. It's a great day here in Germany. EDWARD WEISS: We organized events throughout Poland today, and that's why we're here with our friends from…We're giving them a day in Warsaw. DEEPAK SHARMA: It's a tremendous satisfaction when you can bring a smile to somebody's face, when I can bring a smile to his face. CITI EMPLOYEE (SPANISH): For me, being here today is very important. Being able to bring something like this to the children is really very satisfying. CITI EMPLOYEE (SPANISH): It's really a marvelous day when 1500 people from three different cultures-Banco Uno, Banco Cuscatlan and Citi-come together for the common good of the community. GUSTAVO MARIN (PORTUGUESE): I'm very impressed with everyone's happiness, their desire to participate. This year we are bringing more than 2,000 volunteers and he most interesting is everyone's contagious joy. CITI EMPLOYEE: All of the folks that come in and their families, it's really important for them to have a Thanksgiving dinner, it's nice to see that they have a community to go to where we can provide this for them. ERIC EVE: It's probably the single most important opportunity for us to express our selflessness. SIM LIM: I see a lot of people having a lot of fun. There's one part that Citi blindfolds you and you're supposed to walk to experience what it's like to be a blind man. So I thought that was pretty neat. CITI EMPLOYEE: It definitely makes me feel great to work for Citi. WIN BISCHOFF: I'd like to thank everybody around the world who is giving up their day for this particular purpose. [END]
