Citigroup Names Todd Thomson as Chief Financial Officer

New York — Citigroup today announced the appointment of Todd Thomson as Chief Financial Officer, effective immediately. Before becoming Chief Executive Officer of The Citibank Global Private Bank, Thomson served as Senior Vice President in charge of Strategy and Business Development for Citigroup and Chief Operating Officer for the Global Investment Management and Private Banking Group. Thomson joined Citigroup in 1998.

          In addition, Tom Jones, Chief Executive Officer of Citigroup's Global Investment Management and Private Banking Group, announced that Peter Scaturro, Head of Citibank Private Banking in the US, has been named Interim Chief Executive Officer of Citibank's Global Private Bank. Before joining Citigroup, Peter was the Managing Director responsible for the Private Banking business at Bankers Trust/Deutsche Bank in the United States.

          Citigroup Chairman and Co-CEO, Sanford I. Weill said, "Todd's experience in managing financial matters for global companies makes him a great choice for this role. He has a deep knowledge of Citigroup's operations and strategies for global growth and as a member of our senior management team, he is uniquely positioned to help guide this company's finances and communicate effectively with the investment community."

          Tom Jones said, "Todd has accomplished a great deal as head of the Private Bank. He has put a strategic plan into place and created strong business momentum, setting the bank on a course to become one of the top-tier global providers of financial services to high net-worth individuals. In addition, Todd accelerated the development of an Internet platform for the Private Bank. For the past several months, Peter and Todd have worked closely together and we look forward to an orderly succession process."
