The Citibank Private Bank Has a New Name: The Citigroup Private Bank

New Name Reflects Private Bank's Ability To Offer Clients The Full-Range of Citigroup's Capabilities

New York, NY — The Citibank Private Bank is changing its name. Effectively immediately, the new name is: The Citigroup Private Bank.

Peter K. Scaturro, CEO of the newly-named private bank, The Citigroup Private Bank, is enthusiastic about the name change: "The Citigroup Private Bank is one of the businesses that benefited the most from the merger. This new name more accurately describes how we tap into all of Citigroup's products and services worldwide on behalf of our clients: investment banking, corporate finance, sales and trading, foreign exchange, private equity and the entire array of investment products in addition to the more traditional Private Bank capabilities."

The Citigroup Private Bank had record earnings for the fourth quarter of 2000- with client core margin up 33 percent and Private Bank Client Business volumes up approximately 20 percent to $153 billion. For the year 2000, core income of $324 million is up 21 percent from 1999. In addition, the firm added approximately 100 private bankers and product specialists in 2000.

According to Stephen Cone, Global Director of Marketing for Citigroup Asset Management and The Citigroup Private Bank, "Our goal in all of our marketing efforts is to present a compelling and clean brand image to clients, employees and the public in general.
