Baker, Jr. To Become Citigroup Advisor New York, New York — Citigroup (NYSE: C) today announced that Howard H. Baker, Jr. will become an advisor to Citigroup's senior management on international matters. "We are honored to welcome Howard to Citigroup," said Charles Prince, Chief Executive Officer of Citigroup. "Howard's vast knowledge and experience in international relations, combined with his unique perspective and familiarity with Japan, will be instrumental in helping Citigroup drive the future growth of our unique international franchise." Mr. Baker was appointed US Ambassador to Japan in 2001. He previously served in the US Senate from 1967 to January 1985, and as President Reagan's Chief of Staff from February 1987 to July 1988. He was also a delegate to the United Nations in 1976 and served on the President's Foreign Intelligence Board from 1985 to 1987 and from 1988 to 1990. He recently rejoined the law firm of Baker Donelson Bearman Caldwell & Berkowitz, as Counsel to the firm, which was founded by his grandfather in 1887.
