Citigroup Inc (NYSE: C) August 31, 2005 Citigroup Donates Up to $3 Million to American Red Cross Relief Efforts Assistance for Citigroup Customers in Affected Areas
New York – Citigroup announced today that it would donate up to $3 million to the American Red Cross in support of its disaster relief efforts following Hurricane Katrina. In addition to a $1 million immediate donation, the Citigroup Foundation will match any eligible donation made by a Citigroup employee dollar for dollar to the American Red Cross to support its relief efforts up to $1 million for a potential total of $3 million. In addition to these efforts, Citigroup is committed to working with affected customers to alleviate the temporary financial impact of this disaster through extension of grace periods, waiver of fees and other solutions as appropriate. Affected customers are encouraged to contact the customer service number on their statement.
