Banamex Partners in "Programa Uno por Uno" for Hurricane Lane Victim Relief

Mexico City – In order to support the thousands of Hurricane Lane's victims in the state of Sinaloa, Banco Nacional de México (Banamex), in a joint effort with Fomento Social Banamex A.C. and the Pedro y Elena Hernandez and Alfredo Harp Helu foundations have created a victim support program called "Programa Uno por Uno" (One peso for every peso donated).

The Fomento Social Banamex account number 23 was opened to this effect, in Banamex branch 100, to receive donations from the population to support those people affected by this natural disaster.

For every peso deposited by the civil society into this account, Fomento Social Banamex and both foundations, Pedro y Elena Hernandez and Alfredo Harp Helu, will donate an equal amount – one peso for every peso deposited – in the above-mentioned account. Both foundations invite the Mexican population to support the victims and aid them in their most urgent needs.

Banamex participates in this program jointly with the Government of the State of Sinaloa and the private sector of the State, under the program called "Ayuda Categoría Cinco" (Aid category 5).

Fernando Peón Escalante, Head of Fomento Social Banamex said, "There is a need to rebuild many houses that were damaged or totally destroyed by the hurricane, and this will only be possible with the participation and support of all levels of society. That is the reason why we are joining efforts with the solidarity and support always shown by Banamex to our fellow citizens, with the initiative of the state government and a large number of businessmen in Sinaloa that have worked hard to make this support possible."

With this program, Banamex once again responds to community needs and supports those faced with the serious problems natural disasters represent. Likewise, Banamex has confidence that the Mexican population will respond and join this great effort.
