FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Citigroup Inc. (NYSE: C) December 13, 2007 Citi Distributes 165 Small Grants for Local Communities in Slovakia Bratislava Citibank (Slovakia) a.s. today announced the distribution of 165 small grants into the local communities in Slovakia. The Small Grants initiative was established threes years ago with the help of Bratislava Community Foundation. This program takes 2% of the bank's taxes and assigns it to community projects. Over the last three years, 2.235.510,-SKK has been given away in 13 separate grant rounds. In line with the bank's global corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategy, Citi's local Community Committee in Slovakia selected two focus areas: education (primarily financial education) and community (community development). To date, the Bratislava Community Foundation (BCF) assessed 454 submissions and 165 of them with the average amount of 14.120,-SKK were approved by the bank's Community Committee. Grants have been distributed to 82 towns and villages that will reach and impact centers for family care, numerous kindergartens, elementary and secondary schools with a focus on disadvantaged and handicapped children, scouts, and summer camps.
