Citibank (China) Co., Ltd. Donates RMB500,000 to Support China Weather Crisis Relief Efforts
Shanghai Citibank (China) Co., Ltd. announced today that it will donate RMB500,000 to the Red Cross Society of China ("Red Cross") in support of its disaster relief efforts following China's snow storms. In addition, Citi China will match any eligible donation made by a Citi employee dollar for dollar to the Red Cross.
Funds will be directed in support of home rebuilding efforts in Hunan, Hubei, Guizhou, Guangxi, Jiangxi and Anhui, six of the most severely impacted provinces.
In addition to these actions, Citi employees will provide donations of clothing in different cities around China.
"In the wake of these terrible weather conditions, Citi China is committed to taking action to help the many communities affected," said Mr. Richard Stanley, Chairman of Citibank (China) Co. Ltd. "We hope that by aiding the relief efforts we can help with the enormous task of caring for those who are suffering at this time."
