(NYSE: C) February 26, 2008 Citi Panama Celebrates the Microentrepreneurship Awards 2007 Panama – Citi Foundation and Citi Panama, in conjunction with the Centro Nacional de Competitividad (CNC) have developed the project named PREmic 2007 which ended today with a luncheon to announce the winners. Over $17,000.00 in prizes will be divided among the winners. Winners were selected from a total of 56 clients, and were nominated by various microfinance institutions in Panama in the fields of trade, industry and service, choosing the winners from each category. In addition, the four companies that made a significant impact in rural areas of the country received special recognition. The Microentrepreneurship Award is a tribute to the role of microenterprises in their environments as a means to alleviate poverty and improve the living conditions of the communities where they operate. It also contributes to the rapprochement between entrepreneurs and microfinance institutions that support their development, in turn demonstrating the usefulness and necessity of microfinance services for the corporate segment. During 2007, this program was organized in 28 countries around the world and was implemented in countries like Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Peru, Venezuela and Panama. In 2006, this program received about 5,000 nominations worldwide for the prize and more than 400 entrepreneurs were distinguished.
