As part of its campus engagement strategy, Citi Singapore launched its flagship Student Mentorship Program in January this year.

The first of its kind in Singapore, the program targets the undergraduates who have demonstrated high academic and leadership achievement and have indicated interest in the financial industry. The objective is to address the students' needs as we believe that access to mentorship from the business viewpoint will empower students to understand themselves and plan their careers more effectively whilst we position Citi as the employer of choice and help in building our talent pipeline.

On January 25, 141 outstanding students from the three local universities attended an orientation and "Meet Your Mentor" networking session at Citi Singapore's Asia Square premises.

On the Mentorship Program, student mentee Peng Shiqi said, "This program provides a beneficial link to real professionals in the banking world."

It is also a great platform to build a sound understanding of Citi and to encourage personal development, she added.

A total of 123 Citi mentor volunteers have committed their support to the program over January to May duration. These volunteers were matched to student mentees according to the latter's career interests. Citi mentors will gain mentoring experience and serve as role models for aspiring leaders.

Mentor Dhana Damodaram from Technology Management said, "Citi is the first in the industry to introduce this kind of program and I look forward to contributing to its success by participating as a mentor."
