Pathways to Progress: Youth Workforce Fund

Through the Youth Workforce Fund, the Citi Foundation invests in leading community organizations working to expand employment opportunities for low-income urban youth across key cities in the United States. Through the Fund, the Foundation has invested in a set of diverse and innovative programs from internship efforts in the technology sector to employability training programs in robotics, culinary arts and environmental sustainability.

Meet the 2017 Youth Workforce Fund Grantees

The Youth Workforce Fund is part of the Citi Foundation's three year $100MM global Pathways to Progress initiative to provide youth with training and access to jobs including paid apprenticeships and internships, which are essential to empowering and preparing young people to compete in today's economy. According to the Citi Foundation's Global Youth Survey 2017: Economic Prospects & Expectations, 78% of young people surveyed believe that internships and apprenticeships are critical for career success, however, 60% say there aren't enough of these opportunities in their cities.

2018 Youth Workforce Fund

In 2018, the Citi Foundation announced an additional $4.5 million investment in the Youth Workforce Fund. The application deadline has passed and grant recipients will be announced in late 2018.
