Citi Latin America Announces Winners of Citi Mobile Challenge


Eleven winning organizations and individuals – from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia Guatemala, Venezuela and the U.S. – will have the opportunity to engage with Citi in a potential commercial relationship

Miami, Florida – Eleven organizations and individuals, selected from a group of over 50 finalists, have won the Citi Mobile Challenge Latam 2014, a virtual developer competition designed to accelerate mobile banking innovation by bringing together the most talented and creative developers and designers to create cutting-edge solutions for Citi’s Mobile Banking platform.

The competition’s front–runners include Pidelo Rapido, recognized as the Overall Best Innovative Mobile Solution, and POS MÓVIL Group, which has been named Overall Best B2B & Financial Inclusion Solution. In addition, runner-up winners Tadevel and Developer Fabian Andres Angeloni, have been recognized as the Most Innovative Retail Technology Solution and Most Innovative Individual Developer Solution, respectively. In addition to engaging with Citi in a potential commercial relationship, these four winners will share $60,000 in cash awards.

POS MÓVIL Group’s ‘PAQ’ is a full-cycle mobile commerce platform that offers an inclusive B2B collections feature, while PideloRapido’s ‘Citi Shopping,’ is an integrated personalized e-commerce solution. Developer Fabian Angeloni’s ‘123 Transfer Done!’ offers a payment and transfer functionality, and Tadevel with ‘Predictive Deals’ looks to learn consumer habits to provide targeted offers.

The winners will have a chance at bringing their ideas to market and possibly transforming Latin America’s mobile banking sector by engaging with Citi in a potential commercial relationship.

Individuals, teams and companies from all over the world were invited to submit their entries in one of two categories: Innovative mobile solutions or B2B mobile solutions. More than 150 participants from 19 countries and 50 cities applied for the opportunity to present their innovative ideas and solutions to a panel of international judges on the Demo Day events in Buenos Aires, Argentina and Bogota, Colombia. Winners were selected by a panel of entrepreneurial and tech leaders as well as Citi executives, judging submissions on criteria based on the quality of the code, how easily it can be integrated with the Citi mobile banking platform and the application’s power and potential to impact the lives and businesses of users in Latin America.
