Citi has been present in Poland since 1991, first through Citibank (Poland) S.A. and then, following the merger in 2001 with Bank Handlowy w Warszawie S.A. (the oldest commercial bank on the Polish market, established in 1870), through Citi Handlowy.
Today, Citi Handlowy is one of the largest financial institutions in Poland, listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange and a member of mWig40, an index of the midcap companies.
Citi Handlowy offers an extensive range of corporate, investment and consumer banking products and services serving institutional customers and retail customers through a branch network located throughout the country. Citi Handlowy Brokerage House has been an unquestionable market leader in terms of market share in turnover for the last few years.
In 2005, Citi opened in Poland a center of excellence - operating under the name Citi Service Center (CSC) - to provide high-quality operations and technology services to its entities around the globe. Citi Service Center Poland employs highly qualified staff in three locations: Warsaw, Olsztyn and Lodz.
Currently it provides services to more than 90 countries in Europe, Asia, Africa, both Americas and Australia.
Citi Handlowy executes its corporate social responsibility mission via the Kronenberg Foundation, which focuses on financial education, protection of national heritage and local development. The employee volunteerism program at Citi Handlowy is the biggest such initiative in Poland. It is estimated that throughout its more than 16 years of activity, the Foundation has directly reached more than 8.4 million Poles and, through its financial education programs, helped almost 2 million citizens.
