Head, Corporate Citizenship, Citi and President, Citi Foundation
Brandee McHale is Head of Corporate Citizenship at Citigroup Inc. (“Citi”) and President of the Citi Foundation. She leads Citi's citizenship efforts, including around volunteerism and environmental sustainability and also oversees the Citi Foundation's global grantmaking strategy.
As Head of Corporate Citizenship, Brandee guides the global implementation of Citi’s Sustainable Progress Strategy across the company, which includes expanding its environmental finance activities, establishing enhanced environmental and social risk due diligence standards and policies, and reducing Citi's environmental footprint. To promote sustainable finance more broadly, Brandee shares her knowledge and experience as a member of the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative’s Global Steering Committee.
For over three decades, Brandee has dedicated her career to philanthropy and developing a forward-thinking portfolio of grant initiatives that connect low-income residents to onramps of economic opportunity and a secure financial future. She is a staunch advocate for youth empowerment and under her leadership, the Citi Foundation launched the Pathways to Progress initiative to prepare young people globally for today’s competitive job market. In 2017, the Foundation announced a $100 million commitment – the largest in its 20-year history - to provide 500,000 young people with opportunities that help boost their employability and connect them to jobs.
As a member of the board of directors for Prosperity Now, Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), Living Cities, and America's Promise Alliance, Brandee supports the innovative efforts of these organizations to help increase economic opportunities in communities across the country.
