In 2020, Citi and the Citi Foundation announced Action for Racial Equity, a comprehensive set of strategic initiatives to help close the racial wealth gap and increase economic mobility in the U.S. As part of this effort, the Citi Foundation provided $100 million in grants to support community change agents addressing issues of racial equity.
The Citi Foundation’s Action for Racial Equity investments built on a long history of support to community organizations that work to help level the playing field for people of color in the U.S.
Living Cities
The Citi Foundation is a founding supporter of Living Cities’ Closing the Gaps Network.
Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies
Citi Foundation supported the Joint Center’s Data for Black America project, which aims to increase understanding of the needs of Black communities.
Financial Health Network
In 2020, the Citi Foundation committed $3 million to support the next phase of the Financial Health Pulse Initiative to help highlight the economic disparities and financial health across communities in the U.S.
Echoing Green
In 2021, the Citi Foundation expanded support to Echoing Green for their work to create a more inclusive social entrepreneurship sector.
Thurgood Marshall College Fund
Citi Foundation supported the Thurgood Marshall College Fund in 2021 to launch the HBCU Career Incubator Program.
