Citi and the Sustainable Development Goals
Given our global footprint and our role in financing economies around the world, Citi has an important role to play in achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Throughout this report, we have made an effort to indicate where information is relevant to action on the SDGs. While our work and the content of this report cover many SDGs, we have identified seven goals on which we can have the greatest impact.
In 2019, Citi joined with the UN and other business leaders to create the Global Investors for Sustainable Development (GISD) Alliance, which promises to do more to address the multi-trillion dollar shortfall in funding for the UN’s goals. The 30 members have committed to scale up our collective efforts to align our businesses with the goals and to remove barriers to finance.
