KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • Quantinuum is advancing quantum computing by integrating its trapped-ion hardware with classical systems like NVIDIA's CUDA, enabling developers to build powerful hybrid applications for complex problem-solving in AI and science.
  • By delivering chemically-accurate simulations, quantum technology can significantly accelerate drug discovery and materials science, potentially shortening R&D timelines by years and creating billions in value for the pharmaceutical and manufacturing industries.
  • The industry is progressing toward fault-tolerant systems, with Quantinuum targeting a 100-logical-qubit computer by 2027, a milestone expected to power the first Quantum AI-generated drugs and transform industrial research.

Rob Rowe, Citi's U.S. Director of Research, sits down with Rajeeb Hazra, CEO of Quantinuum, to discuss quantum computing. Topics covered range from the basis of this technology to where the industry is headed, the challenges it faces, and how quantum computing could help companies save billions.
