Financing Prosperity

Governments, consumers, regulators, investors, and others are increasingly tasking businesses with contributing to societal goals.

However, there is little consensus on how - and increasingly whether - businesses should make a social contribution, or even what the common societal goals are.

In this report we investigate a framework that could allow companies and investors to think about a resilient social impact strategy - both in terms of the risk of harm and the potential to contribute. We analyze policy frameworks, reporting guidelines, corporate reporting, and investor actions. We complement this with insights from interviews with investors.
