At Citi, we're proud that over 100,000 Citi volunteers in more than 450 cities spanning 90 countries and territories recently turned out in full force for our 13th annual Global Community Day. Citi employees, friends and families engaged in a wide range of service activities to benefit their local communities, from mentoring young people to revitalizing schools to cleaning up beaches and parks. Many of our Global Community Day projects align with select UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) including: Zero Hunger; Good Health and Well-Being; Quality Education; Decent Work and Economic Growth; Sustainable Cities and Communities; Climate Action; and Partnerships for the Goals. Read Banking on 2030: Citi & the Sustainable Development Goals to learn more about how our business and philanthropic efforts are helping to advance select SDG goals.
This rare degree of volunteerism and enthusiasm for demonstrating our commitment to the communities where we live and work is one of the reasons Citi has been once again recognized by the Civic 50 as one of the most community-minded companies in the United States for the sixth year in a row. Supported by the national nonprofit Points of Light, the Civic 50 celebrates corporate citizens setting the standard for civic engagement in the U.S. Citi is one of just 12 companies to have earned the distinction of being named to the list for the past six years, since the survey began.
