When we marked the 20th anniversary of Global Community Day (GCD) last year, we looked back with pride at how far this tradition has come. Over the past two decades, Citi volunteers have repeatedly answered the call to service, constantly evolving our efforts to meet the moment and deliver positive impact in our communities.
This year, we built on that momentum. Across 84 countries and territories, Citi volunteers came together to deliver more than 93,000 hours of service through over 900 events. Our colleagues rolled up their sleeves to address urgent local needs — whether that was helping clean up the coastlines in Miami, India and Norway, helping prepare students for an AI-driven future in New York or creating food kits for people experiencing homelessness in South Africa. None of these efforts would have been possible without the support of our community partners around the world. They are the engines of growth driving our communities forward, and we show up for them because they always show up for us.
These numbers, and the broader stories they encompass, are testament to the dedication of our colleagues around the world. To each and every team member who contributed to this campaign, thank you. Year after year, we step up for our neighbors and one another, driven by a shared desire to make a difference. I find that it is this passion, embedded in our DNA, that keeps GCD so energizing, so meaningful and so impactful after all these years.
