Citi Handlowy Offers Double-Protection Guarantee

February 20, 2009

Warsaw – Citi Handlowy is the only financial institution in Poland to obtain two globally-recognized certificates – ISO 27001 for information security and BS 25999 for business continuity.

"The fact that Citi Handlowy has been awarded these two certificates is of significant importance," said Rafal Rakowiecki, Head of Operations Division at Citi Handlowy. "They recognize we give our customers a guarantee that we continuously improve our internal procedures and security measures in response to the confidence they have placed in us by entrusting their money to our Bank."

Artur Wach, Business Information Security Officer at Citi Handlowy, who coordinated the certification process, added: "Thanks to ISO 27001, we are certain that we ensure appropriate security of information that is one of key assets of each financial institution. Additionally, the BS 25999 certificate confirms that we are an organization that is well prepared to quickly restore our business processes in the event of a crisis situation."

Citi Handlowy is the first company in Poland to receive a BS 25999 certificate in the field of business continuity management from BSI Management Systems Polska Sp. z o.o., accredited by UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service). The certificate applies to Citi Handlowy and its subsidiaries as well as to all Citi entities in Poland. The BS 25999 standard is the world's first British Standard for business continuity management developed to minimize the risk of a business interruption.

Citi Handlowy is also one of the first banks in Poland to achieve ISO certification for information security management. The certification audit covered all branches and operating units of the Bank and the ISO certificate confirms that the Bank's information security procedures meet the highest world standards.
