Seoul – Thanks to the just-launched Citibank Global Transfer Service (CGTS), Citibank customers can now make real-time remittance transactions overseas via their mobile phones.
This mobile-phone based service is an extension of an online remittance offering launched last August.
At present, while it is available for transfer to Citibank accounts in China, U.S., Canada, Australia, Indonesia, Singapore, Guam, Philippines and Hong Kong, more remittance markets will be added to the list later this year.
The CGTS is a vast improvement on the traditional international remittance service that took days to complete and included telegraphic transfer fees.
The charge for the mobile phone CGTS is less than 5,000 won per transaction. Citigold customers can enjoy this service free of charge.
The service is only available to customers who have completed an online remittance transaction previously with Citibank. For more information about the service please call (02) 3704-7700.
