Citi Names Rajat Madhok Head of Citi Commercial Bank in Asia Pacific

February 28, 2019

HIGHLIGHTS

Appointment comes as Citi targets further client growth from growing franchise

Hong Kong – Citi has appointed Rajat Madhok as Head of Citi Commercial Bank (CCB) Asia Pacific. Based in Hong Kong, Rajat replaces Ashish Bajaj, who has taken on a global role as Ecosystem Head for CCB. In his new role, Rajat reports to Sunil Garg, Global Head for CCB and Gonzalo Luchetti, Asia Pacific Head for Consumer Banking.

Present in 11 markets in the region, CCB provides global banking capabilities and services to mid-sized companies. The business has experienced sustained revenue and profit growth while delivering on its digital priorities and introducing solutions to transform the client experience.

As many of the region's mid-sized companies expand internationally, CCB supports their growth by providing access to Citi's full range of wholesale banking solutions and global network, which spans over 160 countries and jurisdictions.

Previously, Rajat served as Head of Mid Corporates for Asia Pacific CCB, a position he had held since 2014. Rajat is credited with strengthening the CCB value proposition for mid-sized corporates and the establishment of the cross-border business in Asia, supporting emerging champions as they pursue growth opportunities outside of their home markets and in priority trade corridors. He was also instrumental in building out CCB's Digital Client segment.

Rajat joined Citi in 1996 in India, where he held a variety of roles across Corporate Banking and Commercial Banking. In 2011, he was named Commercial Bank and CitiBusiness Head for India. As CCB Head for India, Rajat launched several new initiatives that led to high quality, client-led business growth.
