Citi and Citi Foundation Pledge A$360,000 to Bushfire Disaster Relief

Citi and Citi Foundation have announced a donation package totaling more than AUD$360,000 to support the Australian Bushfire Disaster Relief and Recovery.

"I am deeply saddened by Australia's bushfires and the devastating effect they are having on our communities and wildlife," said Marc Luet, CEO Citi Australia.

"While hardship initiatives have been in place for our impacted customers for a number of months, we have pledged to extend our support to the community. We are proud to support the Australian Red Cross as they provide practical, local support to thousands of people living in bushfire-affected communities."

Details of the pledge include:

Community Response

  • Citi Australia has pledged A$150,000 to the Australian Red Cross Bushfire Disaster Relief and Recovery, inclusive of A$50,000 in employee matching
  • Citi Foundation has pledged a further US$150,000 in support of the Australian Red Cross Bushfire Disaster Relief and Recovery

 

Citi Employees

  • A workplace giving appeal and matching program has been launched for employees to donate
  • Additional leave entitlements are available for employees impacted by fire or those assisting in the bushfire response

 

Customers

  • For customers living in bushfire-affected areas, we've enacted our hardship policy and are using advanced speech analytics to identify impacted clients. A suite of disaster relief packages are also available for customers in need, including a payment moratorium, with a suspension of repayment and no interest or fee charges. Customers can call 1800-722-879 if experiencing hardship due to bushfires
  • Customers can redeem credit card reward points to donate to the Australian Red Cross Disaster Relief and Recovery appeal
