Citi appoints Sarah Stewart as Chief Country Compliance Officer (CCCO) for Australia and New Zealand

Sarah StewartCiti Australia today announced the appointment of Sarah Stewart, Managing Director and Chief Country Compliance Officer for Australia and New Zealand. Ms Stewart will report to the bank's Asia Pacific Regional Chief Compliance Officer, Aveline San, and Marc Luet, CEO for Citi Australia.

Ms Stewart has over 20 years' experience managing compliance functions at global financial services firms in Australia, Europe and Asia including Macquarie Group, Bank of America, Societe Generale and Tabcorp, where she spent four years as General Manager for Risk and Compliance.

Commenting on Ms Stewart's appointment, Mr Luet said: "It's pleasing to be able to appoint a business leader with Sarah's significant risk and compliance experience to this critical role. Sarah's diverse experience and leadership skills will be an important asset to Citi Australia."

Ms Stewart will oversee the bank's compliance function for the institutional and consumer bank, and will work closely with government regulators and other industry stakeholders. Ms Stewart will join the Citi Australia & New Zealand Executive Committee and the bank's regional Independent Compliance Risk Management Operating Committee.

She replaces James Davies, who was appointed as Regional Chief Compliance Officer for Citi's Institutional business based in Hong Kong.
