Citi is pleased to be a Major Partner for Australia's largest and most progressive photography event, the inaugural PHOTO 2021, International Festival of Photography.
The festival showcases the works of over 160 artists' galleries and street installations across Melbourne and regional Victoria commencing on the 18th of February through to the 7th of March, 2021.
PHOTO 2021 examines the complex relationship between the lens and 'The Truth' – the veracity of the photographic image in a time of social media, fake news, and artificial intelligence.
Citi's Head of Banking, Capital Markets and Advisory, Tony Osmond said, "We're thrilled to partner with PHOTO 2021 and help deliver this immersive festival that elevates the voice of artists on the cuttingedge of political expression and progressive thought."
"The festival is reimagining the way we consume art and ideas in a way that is visually spectacular, and keeps the community safe," he added.
Exclusive to Victoria, PHOTO 2021 program includes 40 free outdoor works and 39 free exhibitions in Melbourne and regional Victoria. The outdoor program takes newly commissioned photographic work to the streets of Melbourne, for audiences to experience and engage with.
"As a global bank with a large, diverse workforce, we resonate with PHOTO 2021's ambition of democratising art, and providing a truly inclusive experience for art-lovers and novices alike," Tony said.
"Whilst this is an exciting experience for our clients, the impactful installations across the city are a symbol of hope for the community. PHOTO 2021 will help reinstate the vibrancy of Melbourne's art scene after an extended lockdown," he added.
