Sydney – Citi Australia is proud to be a Principal Partner of the Impact X Summit Sydney 2021 – Accelerating Pathways to Zero Emissions.
The virtual event will be the single most important climate change summit in Asia Pacific, producing recommendations for the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) in Glasgow.
Supported by the NSW Government and a global coalition of climate action partners, Impact X Summit aims to better position NSW and Australia as a world leader in clean energy, decarbonisation technologies, carbon services and climate resilience.
The event will showcase Australian technologies on the global climate stage during COP26 and produce ideas on technology, investment, and collaboration for accelerating pathways to zero emissions.
Commencing on November 2, the two-day virtual summit is expected to attract over 2,000 business leaders, technology innovators and investors and will feature a range of international and national speakers including Citi's Global Co-Head of Sustainability & Corporate Transitions Group, Keith Tuffley.
"Citi has made strides in its efforts to transition to a net zero, from launching our updated Sustainability Progress Strategy and committing to net zero emissions by 2050 and assisting our clients on their own transition to net-zero. However, we cannot tackle climate change without investing in new technologies and innovations. Impact X Summit will showcase some of the best-in-class solutions that can help accelerate our progress to net zero."
Commenting on the partnership, CEO of Citi Australia Marc Luet said: "Finance has a critical role to play in supporting companies in developing more sustainable business models and Citi is proud to partner with Impact X Summit. We see this as an opportunity to lead and illustrate to other companies the range of innovative solutions they can access to help achieve their sustainability goals."
