Miami, Fla. – Citi was recognized as the Best Investment Bank in five countries in Latin America by Global Finance magazine in the 22nd edition of the World's Best Investment Banks 2021 awards. Citi received the recognition in the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Mexico, and Peru.
The awards honor the best global investment banks and their performance between the fourth quarter of 2019 and the third quarter of 2020. Global Finance editors, with input from industry experts, used a series of criteria to rate and select the winners, including bank entries, market share, number and size of deals, service and advice, structuring capacity, distribution network, efforts to address market conditions, and innovation.
Earlier this year, Citi Latin America was named Investment Bank of the Year by LatinFinance magazine for its prominent role in outstanding transactions in the region.
In response to the impact of the pandemic in Latin America, Citi worked hard to assist clients seeking to navigate volatile markets, execute complex operations, and support sovereign, corporate and financial issuers throughout the region in their Capital Markets financing and M&A transactions.
Citi has a physical presence in Latin America in 22 countries and has investment banking teams based in Bogotá, Mexico City, New York and Sao Paulo, serving clients throughout the region.
