Sydney – Citi is proud to again be a major partner for Australia's largest and most progressive photography event, PHOTO 2022, International Festival of Photography.
The festival showcases the works of over 120 artists and photographers, across 90 exhibitions, 50 world premieres, and 24 specially commissioned projects. It will be held from April 29 – May 22 throughout 38 galleries and across iconic Melbourne sites, including Parliament House and the Old Melbourne Gaol, as well as via livestream.
PHOTO 2022 examines the theme of 'Being Human' and addresses the social and cultural role photography plays in our lives and how art can activate cities and public spaces.
Citi's Head of Banking, Capital Markets and Advisory, Tony Osmond said, "We're thrilled to partner with PHOTO 2022 to deliver this immersive festival that elevates the voice of local and international artists on the cutting edge of political expression and progressive thought.
"The festival is reimagining the way we consume art and ideas in a visually spectacular way, and encouraging meaningful conversation and interactions between cultures, communities, and diverse backgrounds. We are proud to once again be involved with such an internationally-renowned artistic showcase," he added.
Exclusive to Victoria, PHOTO 2022 is largely free to the community, welcoming locals and visitors to engage with and enjoy the provocative works. In addition to the free festival, there are special paid activations, including Helmut Newton: In Focus, held at the Jewish Museum of Australia, and informative festival tours.
