Citi Australia and New Zealand grows its Commercial Real Estate Finance Team in Sydney

Citi Australia and New Zealand today announced that Chris Alder has joined its Commercial Real Estate (CRE) Finance Team.

Chris joins as Vice President, Citi Commercial Real Estate Finance Underwriting, following three years at Wingate. Prior to Wingate, Chris held various real estate and corporate finance roles at Commonwealth Bank and NAB.

The Citi CRE finance business delivers structured financing across all commercial real estate asset classes including retail, industrial, office, hospitality, data center and alternative asset classes with Citi acting as lead on over US$8.6 billion of transactions in APAC in 2025 year to date.

Most recently, the team played a lead role supporting multiple transactions for Airtrunk’s A$16 billion sustainable financing initiatives.

The APAC CRE division launched in 2018 and significantly bolstered its presence in 2023 with the appointment of Rob Resch from NAB to lead the business locally.

The appointment expands Citi’s Australia and New Zealand Financing & Securitisation business, covering Asset Backed lending, Commercial Real Estate and RMBS.
