Citi Celebrates 50 Years in Buffalo with $40 Million Investment in Modernized Crosspoint Campus

BUFFALO – Citi today celebrated 50 years in Buffalo while marking the completion of a significant renovation of its Crosspoint campus, underscoring the company's long-term commitment to Western New York and the thousands of colleagues who support clients and businesses around the world from the region.
Citi’s $40 million comprehensive renovation of its owned facility at 580 Crosspoint will allow the firm to consolidate its Buffalo operations into the modernized campus and enhance its presence in the region. Over 2,200 Citi colleagues currently work at the site, which was purchased for $53 million in 2019.
Citi's story in Buffalo began 50 years ago with just 10 colleagues processing checks and money orders. Today, Buffalo is one of Citi's largest sites in North America and home to thousands of colleagues working across operations, technology and global functions. This $40 million investment as well as our previous purchase of the building reflects our confidence in Buffalo, our commitment to our colleagues and our belief in the future of this community."
The renovated campus features more than 1,000 shared workstations, collaboration spaces, upgraded technology, a new reception area and redesigned workspaces that support Citi's hybrid workforce.
The project also advances Citi's operational and sustainability goals. By consolidating operations into one primary building, Citi will reduce its Buffalo real estate footprint by approximately 40%, lowering costs and reducing carbon emissions associated with the campus.
