LONDON Citi is opening the doors to its London headquarters, marking a significant milestone in the transformation of the firm's $1.5 billion investment in the UK. The first colleagues began moving into the building today, starting a phased transition into one of London's most modern and sustainable office developments.

The opening follows the completion of the multi-year redevelopment of Citi's tower in Canary Wharf. The project is considered one of the largest office redevelopment projects undertaken at height in London and across Europe. Additional business groups will relocate in phases over the coming months, with approximately 10,000 colleagues expected to be based in the tower upon completion of the move.

The redevelopment, which began in 2023, demonstrates how Citi is upgrading its workplaces for colleagues and clients while reinforcing London's role as one of the firm's most important global hubs.

The opening of London Citi Tower is a proud moment for Citi and a powerful expression of our long-term commitment to the UK. London is one of the world's leading financial centres and a critical hub within Citi's global network. This investment reflects our confidence in the future of both London and the UK and strengthens our ability to serve clients globally. Bringing our colleagues together in a modern workplace will strengthen collaboration across our businesses and help us better serve our clients."

The UK is home to approximately 14,000 Citi employees across London, Belfast, Edinburgh and Jersey and serves as a base for many of Citi's most senior global leaders. Citi continues to play a significant role in supporting the UK economy, serving many of the country's largest companies and institutions while facilitating investment and growth in the UK and internationally. Alongside major investments in Dublin, the redevelopment of London Citi Tower reflects Citi's continued investment in its workplaces and infrastructure across the region.

This $1.5 billion project has transformed the tower into a modern workplace designed for how our colleagues and clients connect and work today, whether through the latest technology or interacting face-to-face. Seeing colleagues begin to move into the building is an exciting milestone following years of work from teams across Citi and our project partners. I am very proud of the team for delivering this complex project within its budget."

More than 90% of materials and equipment for the redevelopment have been sourced from Europe, with the majority supplied by UK businesses, supporting SMEs and specialist manufacturers throughout the project and underscoring Citi's commitment to the local economy. By completion, over 10,000 skilled construction professionals will have worked on the project, most of whom live within 25 miles of the building, demonstrating its contribution to local employment and skills.

The opening of the tower marks the beginning of a new chapter for Citi in the UK. Colleagues will continue moving into the building throughout the remainder of 2026 as teams transition to their reimagined workspace in Canary Wharf.
