Green, social finance, and affordable housing bonds are an important component of our sustainable finance activities at Citi, in addition to our firm-wide commitments to finance and facilitate $1 trillion in sustainable finance by 2030, and to achieve net zero emissions by 2050.

Citi’s sustainable debt offerings are an integral component of our sustainable finance activities. Our issuance of sustainable securities such as Green and Social bonds has supported numerous projects that help to address environmental and social challenges globally.
As of December 2025, we have an updated Sustainable Issuance Framework, which consolidates our previously separate Green Bond Framework, Social Bond Framework for Affordable Housing and Social Finance Framework. The legacy frameworks will continue to apply to outstanding sustainable securities that were issued under them until maturity.
The updated Sustainable Issuance Framework was developed in line with the Green Bond Principles 2025, Social Bond Principles 2025 and the Sustainability Bond Guidelines 2021 as administered by the International Capital Market Association (ICMA).
Sustainalytics has provided a second party opinion on our updated Sustainable Issuance Framework which confirms alignment with the ICMA Principles.
