The WGEA Gender Pay Gap reporting is an important tool for driving transparency and accountability across the Australian private sector and we are pleased to publish our gender pay gap data on an annual basis.
It is important to note this data reflects the unadjusted median pay of women and men at Citi regardless of job function, grade, performance, tenure, and other factors. It is not a measure of the difference in pay between women and men doing the same job.
Citi Australia’s gender pay gap has remained relatively flat across all categories of measurement for our internal results. When looking at median total remuneration, Citi’s gap is 25.3% for the 2024-2025 reporting period. This demonstrates we still have more work to do.
We are committed to a practical approach to driving change. Initiatives we have implemented for Australia include:
Participating in industry bodies like Women in Banking and Finance and Women in Payments.
Supporting our internal network, the Citi Inclusion Council Women’s Stream.
Enhancement of our employer funded parental leave, including increasing the paid leave period from 16 to 20 weeks, removing differentiation between primary and secondary carers and removal of service requirements to be eligible for parental leave benefits.
There is more to do to drive change. Citi Australia is actively pursuing further initiatives to bolster our support for an inclusive workplace. Diversity is a strength and it remains something we drive as a priority at a senior leadership level.
Progressing gender equity
Our approach to equity at work seeks to broaden the representation of those working within all levels of our firm, create a more inclusive environment and develop ways to widen our impact for our suppliers, clients, customers and communities we serve.
Citi Australia has a range of initiatives and programs aimed at reducing our gender pay gap and supporting an inclusive workplace for all colleagues.
Citi Inclusion Council
The Citi Inclusion Council has a dedicated Women’s stream aimed at helping foster an inclusive culture at the firm. This includes raising awareness of the challenges facing women in the workplace and facilitating networking.
Women in Payments sponsorship
Citi is a proud Global Sponsor of Women in Payments, a global organisation of women from across the payments and fintech industry working towards gender parity. Founded in 2011, Women in Payments is driven to help level the playing field for women at all levels across the payments industry. Women in Payments now has over 3,000 members in over 70 countries.
How We Work — hybrid working model
We continue to enable all employees globally to better balance work and life while delivering the many benefits of being together in person: belonging, connectivity and collaboration. Colleagues in designated Hybrid roles work from the office three days a week, as a minimum.
Pay Equity Review
Citi’s most recently published pay equity review determined that on an adjusted basis, women globally are paid on average more than 99% of what men are paid at Citi.
Women in Banking and Finance
Citi Australia is a silver member of Women in Banking and Finance, an organisation focused on making a tangible impact in addressing gender diversity by increasing the representation of female leaders in the banking and finance sector.
