In our 6th collaborative GPS report with Dr. Carl Benedikt Frey - Director of the Future of Work Programme at the Oxford Martin School, Oxford University - and 31 Citi analysts, we explore how technology is impacting work. Citi GPS - Technology at Work V6.0 report argues we are moving from a post-industrial to a post-production society in which both goods and services are increasingly produced abroad or by machines. The pandemic opened up a new world of remote work and accelerated digital transformation trends. The report explores what Mervyn King recently described as “the next big challenge - guiding the long-term shift in economic activity that will be needed after the pandemic is controlled.” This includes looking at the comparative advantage of nations and concludes with a positive outlook for cities.
