A New Way to Bank Nationwide on Google Pay

Today, we are excited to share a sneak preview of that work – the Citi Plex Account. To us, it will be more than a bank account. It will be a new way to bank nationwide on Google Pay.

Account opening is fast and frictionless. The account will offer functionality you would expect – add money, pay friends, view and manage your transactions, get real-time updates on payments, paychecks, refunds and more – as well as some unique rewards and cool features which we'll reveal at launch next year.

With a user experience designed by Google, it will integrate seamlessly within Google Pay. There is nothing like it in the market.

The collaboration is the first of its kind in the U.S., bringing together Citi's banking know-how with Google's best-in-class user experiences and technology to drive a stream of new services and capabilities in our ecosystems. It aligns seamlessly with our strategy giving us a platform to drive significant scale in our Retail Bank. By unlocking the power of our respective ecosystems, we can deepen our existing relationships and serve a larger and new generation of customers. It is a mobile-first experience which suits our digitally-led, light physical growth strategy. And it enables us to build for the future with a suite of APIs and capabilities that can be repurposed with existing and net new partners.
