Citi Introduces New No Annual Fee Citi Rewards+SM Card, Accelerating Points-Earning Potential on Everyday Purchases

January 03, 2019

Only credit card that rounds up to the nearest 10 points on every purchase AND provides 10 percent points back for the first 100,000 points redeemed per year

New York – Citi is launching a new no-annual-fee* credit card, Citi Rewards+SM, to provide cardmembers the ability to earn more points on everyday purchases—even the small ones.

Starting January 10, the Citi Rewards+ card is the only card that rounds up to the nearest 10 ThankYou® Points on every purchase (for example, a $2 coffee will earn 10 points) and provides cardmembers with 10 percent points back for the first 100,000 points redeemed per year. The card also offers 2 ThankYou Points for every $1 spent at supermarkets and gas stations for the first $6,000 per year and then 1 point per $1 spent thereafter as well as 1 ThankYou Point for every $1 spent on all other purchases.

In addition, new cardmembers will receive a bonus offer of 15,000 ThankYou Points after spending $1,000 in purchases within the first three months of account opening—redeemable for $150 in gift cards—as well as a low intro rate on purchases and balance transfers for 12 months*.

"We're excited to introduce a new card that truly turns everyday purchases into something bigger," said Chris Fred, Head of Proprietary Products, Citi Cards. "The unique and simple rewards structure is a game changer in rewarding customers for day-to-day purchases with its exclusive points round up and points back offering."

And with new Citi research showing that U.S. consumers make an average of 14 routine purchases a week—such as coffee or lunch—and only 28 percent are using a rewards credit card for those purchases (vs. 67 percent using cash), this card helps make the purchases consumers make most frequently more rewarding.

With Citi ThankYou Points, cardmembers can redeem their available points when they want and how they want on everything from gift cards to travel rewards, and statement credits to cash rewards. In addition, cardmembers can use their points for all or part of their purchase at participating Shop with Points partners like,, and or for a statement credit at and more.
